Colwill: Winning the World Cup is more meaningful than the Europa League
Colwill, who just won the World Cup for Chelsea, believes that the value of this cup competition will surpass the Europa League in the future.
Chelsea beat Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 in the final on Sunday, becoming the first team to win the World Cup under the new scale. Levi Colwill believes that this honor means more than the Europa League: "This is the biggest trophy I have ever won. I said before the World Cup that this trophy means more than the Europa League, but people thought I was crazy. However, even when I return to the Premier League or play in the Europa League, I still think so."
"This is a victory of extraordinary significance. In the future, if we continue to win the trophy, I believe everyone will give us the love we deserve, but only the future will know." The central defender is now looking forward to the next season: "I think we are ready, please wait and see."
Colwill is convinced that Chelsea is fully capable of challenging the Premier League and Europa League titles: "We are such a team, this is the characteristic of Chelsea. From Terry, Lampard and Duarte to create this situation, and then we continue to carry it forward. We are absolutely capable of doing it, and Sunday's final proved this. Everyone said that PSG is the best team in the world, but we won 3-0."
