Romano stated: "Son Heung-min will join Los Angeles FC. Here we go!" All parties have reached a verbal agreement. Son Heung-min is ready to move to the MLS for a transfer fee exceeding €15 million. Son Heung-min did not return to the UK with Tottenham because he was waiting to sign the paperwork with LAFC.

Son Heung-min joined Tottenham in 2015 and has been with the club for ten years. He became Tottenham's captain in August 2023. To date, Son Heung-min has played 454 games for Tottenham, contributing 173 goals and 101 assists, winning a Europa League title with the team. He also won the Premier League Golden Boot in the 2021/22 season.
