Chivu officially joins Inter Milan
On June 9, according to Inter Milan's official news, 44-year-old team legend Chivu became the team's new coach. The two sides signed a contract until 2027. Chivu will replace the former coach Inzaghi who went to Riyadh Crescent to coach.
Chivu played as a central defender during his playing career. He joined Inter Milan in 2007 and retired after 7 years. He played 169 games for Inter Milan and won 1 Champions League, 1 Club World Cup, 3 Serie A, 2 Italian Cups and 2 Italian Super Cups with the team.
After retiring, Chivu has served as the head coach of Inter Milan's youth teams at all levels since 2018. In February 2025, Chivu went to Parma as the head coach and helped the team successfully avoid relegation.
